I am fortunate enough to be part of the Verizon employee trial for FiOS TV. I am already quite impressed with the signal quality. It really blows cable (digital) out of the water. More channels are actually digital quality and it seems as though they tweaked my coax enough to make sure I was getting a crystal clear picture. I can't imagine what it looks like in HD.
Microsoft developed the Interactive Menu Guide for FiOS and it is really nice. If you are a Windows Media Center user, you will the interface to be very similar to MCE. Another advantage over cable is the abilty to search for programming by keyword.
I love flipping to a movie and having it play in Dolby Digital 5.1. My digital could handle it, but the cable tech's had no clue how to handle it. Not only could the FiOS guys handle it, but they programmed all of my remotes as well before they left.
The cable companies must be shaking in their boots because there is no way they are going to be able to keep up with fiber.
