Mitt Romney has learned an important lesson: when it comes to voters, you can’t buy them love. Romney has invested millions of dollars, including a significant sum from his own bank account into winning Iowa but Iowa voters sent an important message: votes still cannot be bought. Romney outspent Huckabee about 20:1 in Iowa and still came up very short when it was all said and done.

Unfortunately for all of the Republican candidates, Romney has the personal wealth to hang onto his campaign longer than most candidates would cling to a dying campaign. John McCain recently took a $3 million dollar loan in light of his late breaking reemergence.

Mike Huckabee cruised to an easy victory today in Iowa.
