Rev. Jeremiah Wright, former pastor of Senator Barrack Obama, has been in the news again this week, but not for old remarks, but recent.
Many have attempted to extend grace towards both Rev. Wright and Obama in light of divisive remarks made after 9-11, but his recent remarks seems to indicated that not only Rev. Wright is not repentant for his remarks, but in fact has added more fodder to the debate during his recent media rounds and speaking tour. Listening to Rev. Wright’s remarks, one might wonder if he has been attempting to cause harm to Obama’s remarks.
Wright’s recent remarks have forced Senator Obama to denounce Rev. Wright. It is very sad that any church member would be forced to publicly denounce his pastor, but it seemed necessary in this case. It is unfortunate that instead of contributing to a real discussion on race in our country, Rev. Wright has instead, deepened the wedge of racial divisiveness through his inflammatory remarks.
I have stated many times before, that I completely disagree with Obama’s platform. He is as near to a Marxist as we have seen in a long time from the Democratic Party. However, no one can marginalize his accomplishment of becoming the first viable black candidate for president. I am thankful that we finally have a strong black candidate running for president; it is long overdue in our country.
With Obama’s strong denouncement, let us hope that we can put this peripheral issue behind us and focus on the issues. Republicans really need not focus on the Rev. Wright remarks in order to discredit Senator Obama; his leftist platform is enough on its own to defeat him.

Thanks to a light schedule and a generous wife, Chuck and I were able to take in some of the D.C. sights this weekend. We visited the Old Library of Congress building, the Supreme Court, The National Archives (home of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Bill of Rights, Magna Carta, and other important documents), and wrapped up the day with a tour of the Capitol. It was a great day with beautiful weather.

The ever elusive Nintendo Wii is expected to become more readily available in the U.S. this month. The Japanese game maker has been sending its surplus supply to Europe but is expecting to shift its surplus supply to the U.S. in anticipation of the soon to be released Wii Fit in America, on May 21.
Toys R Us is rumored to be getting a large shipment in this coming Sunday, as is Target.
The Wii has allowed Nintendo to bring in a new audience of gamers, including women with its interactive console.

Much to everyone’s relief, the Pennsylvania primaries are finally here. I believe we have more presidential commercials running now than we did in 2004 for the general election, and Senators Obama and Clinton get nastier by the day it seems.
I hope to vote around 4:00 P.M. I doubt I will see any media action due to living in one of two communities in Allegheny County that usually go Republican, but I will have my camera just in case. Pundits are now speculating that Pennsylvania could be the swing state in 2008, with John McCain having the chance to pull Pennsylvania in as a Red state.
The way the media has been depicting Pittsburgh is quite humorous. They keep depicting us as an old industrial town in transition. Well, that would have been a story in the 1970’s, but anyone who has spent much of any time in Pittsburgh as of recent would note that it is mostly known now for the tech industry and one of the premier medical communities in the country.
