Meteorologists are calling for this week to be so severe that it could rival the severe weather of the week of April 3, 1974 when a two day period saw 148 confirmed tornadoes.  Six of those tornadoes were confirmed as F5 tornadoes, 24 were F4, 34 were F3, 32 were F2, 33 were F1, and 19 were f0 tornadoes.  315 people dies and roughly 5,00 people were injured from the outbreak.

Speculation is again mounting that Condoleeza Rice will be John McCain’s running mate.

I am unfamiliar with Rice’s political views, but have found her poised and extremely intelligent in her roles within the Bush administration.
