A lot has been made about the news bias favoring Barack Obama, and I for one have believed and have seen it, but now I am disgusted with the coverage. Today, I tuned into CNN to see how the networks were responding to John McCain's pick of Sarah Palin for VP and listened to a reporter demonstrate bias with his words, but also with his body language and tone in a negative manner when asking a "question" (was more rhetorical and attacking in nature) of a reporter who was reporting live from Washington, PA. This anchor was not an analyst - he was an anchor. I believe it was T. J. Harris. Anderson Cooper has also been noticed with smug looks and remarks towards the McCain campaign. Bill Cafferty is almost unforgivable in his remarks and Lou Dobbs would crown anyone king or queen who would "fix" illegal immigration (as if there is a simple fix).
Slightly worse than CNN, is MSNBC. MSNBC has nearly self-destructed due to its one-sided coverage of Barack Obama. Last week, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell declared MSNBC the, "official network of the Obama campaign" last week and called their coverage of Senator Obama "embarrassing." Red-faced MSNBC host Chris Matthews blamed Rendell's remarks on Rendell's partiality towards the Clintons. MSNBC has seen on and off air explosions between their news people regarding the biased reporting. MSNBC has done a terrible job of honoring Tim Russert's legacy.
I understand when analysts through their opinions with their broadcasting, but when news anchors do cast their views my way, it is blatantly unprofessional. The only news anchor/host in the media today, outside of Fox News, that shows any sense of objectivity is Larry King, who manages to treat each guest fairly and respectfully. I miss the day of watching the news and reporters reporting a story minus the spin. Of course there were biases then, but they were more in check and not as flagrant. Maybe that day is gone for good.

I’m pretty sure this is why I don’t watch too much news anymore. The bias is just too much for me.
Thanks for the picture messages/video from the campaign stops this weekend!
I agree. The cable channel news anchors have all become commentators who want to impose their views and opinions on the people.
What I don’t understand is why they believe that they have to explain what a person said and what they meant when they said it, when I heard and saw them say it.
I object to the attitude that I cannot see and hear and form my own opinion!
Fire them all! Make them all game show host or something less important, instead of allowing them to confuse people with their opinions and views.
I agree with most of your article, but do you really think Fox News is fair? They have been notorious for their right leaning views..
Fox has been known for right-leaning views, however, they have been closest to center this year. I watched a sampling of the networks aft er both the DNC and GOP convention speeches and when watching CNN and MSNBC (especially MSNBC) I wondered, “Were they watching the same speech as I was?”
