The Next RNC Chair: Endoresement of Michael Steele
A guide to the RNC chairman race - Alexander Burns - Politico.com

The November race has closed, so now it's on to the the race for RNC chair.  there are six candidates viewing for the job: Mike Duncan (Incumbent), Saul Anuzis (Michigan GOP Chair), Michael Steele (former MD GOP Chair), Katon Dawson (SC GOP Chair), Ken Blackwell (OH),  and Chip Saltsman (former TN GOP Chair).

I think it is a no-brainer that Mike Hunter has to go.  Although he has a plan for a comeback, we shouldn't have needed a "comeback plan".  The other thing that really stands out is his failure to recognize the use of technology.  Take a look at his website - it's horrible.  He still doesn't get it.

As far as the rest of them go, they mostly have the same plan.  I think Michael Steele has  momentum and seems to really "get" technology.  He is a very strong pro-life candidate with a huge like-ability factor, including the ability to coin pop phrases ("Drill, baby, drill.").  It goes without saying that the GOP brand has been damaged for all of the wrong reasons.  Most Americans still consider themselves more conservative than liberal and most if voting for ideals alone, would vote Republican.  The face of the GOP has to change, starting at the top.  We can't present ourselves as the party for rich, old, white guys any longer.  Michael Steele seems to have the skill and vision to move us forward, not backtrack to where we were.

The RNC called an emergency meeting set for Washington on Jan. 7th to hold a special candidates forum.  This unprecedented meeting will be followed shortly with the election occurring Jan. 28-31.

I hope all of those clamouring for a third party are paying attention, this when and where the GOP sets its course.  Republican principles are still correct, we just haven't done a great job communicating them and in some cases living them.
