What is the left up to in Pittsburgh? Has anyone else noticed the ridiculous amount of love that the left has shown the ‘Burgh recently?

- Democratic Platform committee held final meeting (2008) in Pittsburgh
- Obama proposal of a high-speed train between Pittsburgh and Philly (13 Billion)
- Airport received 12 million in stimulus funding
These are just a few of the recent gestures of affection the left has shown Pittsburgh. My question is, “Why?” Don’t get me wrong, I love Pittsburgh as much as the next Yinzer, but Pittsburgh is not a large city. One can’t help but wonder who cut a deal with the party and what was the deal? Was it the Dems new best friend, Arlen Specter? Was it the new kid on the block, Luke Ravenstahl? Was it our outspoken Governor Rendell? I will be interested to track this quietly developing story over time.
