ACORN Unravelling

In case you missed it, two twenty-somethings, James O'Keefe and his colleague Hannah Giles, have taken up the the mantle that used to be assumed by mainstream media: investigative reporting. To date, they have released 4 hidden camera videos from 4 different cities (Baltimore, Washington D.C., New York, and San Diego) that expose how ACORN employees voluntarily entered into collusion with the two reporters who posed as a pimip and a prostitute to secure federal housing aid for their "business". Worse than the blatant fraudulent spending of taxpayer money, is that in all four cases the two reporters revealed their plans to bring in children to work in their brothels.

ACORN's first response was to claim that the two reporters went into hundreds of ACORN offices and attempted the same tactics. The two reports have denied this and ACORN has offered no evidence to support their claims. ACORN officials then claimed that the videos were obviously edited and did not represent the truth. Again, these are claims that have gone unsubstantiated.

Monday night, the Senate voted 83-7  to cut all HUD funding to ACORN. It should be noted that Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey was one of the seven senators who opposed the bill.

After losing their place in the 2010 Census and their Congressional housing funding, ACORN has announced a hiring freeze and an independent investigation. By independent, ACORN seems to have meant "internal." An independent investigation would require a non-partisan, outside investigation.

Several ACORN employees were recently arrested in Floridafor voter fraud and ACORN in under investigation is numerous other states for voter fraud as well.

Many liberals are painting the expose videos as right-wing attacks on the Presenident becasue of the President's past work with ACORN and ACORN's purported conenctions with the Obama campaign in 2009. The White House has expressed concern about the content of the videos.
