No Sunshine In Obama’s Forecast

After promising unprecedented transparency and ensuring that healthcare legislation would be formed in front of the public on C-Span and made available on the Internet at least 72 hours before a vote, the Obama administration seems to be presenting more of a solar eclipse than the sunshine he promised.

Democrats have consistently voted down legislation that would make posting bills on the Internet mandatory and they have now retreated with three of their own and David Axelrod to craft the legislation for healthcare reform.

In an unusually critical article, MSNBC calls the administration out on its hypocrisy. Perhaps we are starting to see mainstream media wake up to the scary vision of an administration that silences and locks out any voice that questions him. In recent weeks, the Obama administration has made it clear that it will exclude Fox News from the normal press relations. Today, Axelrod stated that the administration didn’t see Fox News as a legitimate news organization. Rahm Emmanuel echoed Axelrod’s sentiment during another interview this morning. Does that mean if we don’t consider the President a legitimate leader we can ignore him, too?

Bad form, President Obama, bad form.
