A farmer in Whitehouse, OH (no joke!) has turned his corn maze into a likeness of Sarah Palin. An artist was commissioned to create the likeness using an image and GPS software.

The iJoke 2′s Launch Looks a Bit Like the Hindenburg

Riddled with software and activation problems and turning first generation iPhones into bricks, the iPhones's launch looked a bit like the Hindenburg. I wish I could say I felt sorry for any of the parties involved, but I don't.

At South Hills Village, the fruity employees had shoppers corralled between ropes a fair distance back from, the entrance to the store to manage "the crowd". In actuality, the ropes created the appearance of a crowd. The whole this was a joke. The best part of the joke, however are these pictures I snagged with my LG Dare and uploaded via MMS to Flickr. Why is that funny? Because the iPhone's camera isn't that hot and the iPhone does not come with standard MMS. So, you can stand in line (more than likely with a fair share of Barrack Obama supporters) and wait for your precious iPhone, only to pay a lot more for service, or you can take the quick jaunt down to the other end of the mall to pick up the superior LG Dare.

* Notes:

1. LG made touch screen phones long before Apple so don't even think about posting an ignorant comment about LG copying Apple. LG copied themselves (see LG Prada).

2. Any feeble attempts by Apple fan boys or girls to defend Apple or slam Microsoft will be immediately removed and perhaps banned form the blog - it is my blog after all. I don't have to be fair. :)

Flirt to Convert is a new book published by Inter-varsity Press that encourages single Christians to use flirting as a means of evangelism. The teaser for the book suggests that when other singles are looking for "the one" they are actually looking for "The One".

All joking aside, I spotted this April's Fool day joke on Josh Harris' nanoblog. I did a Google search on Flirt to Convert and found there is actually an online dating service with the same name geared towards Christians and towards a real, not merely fictional, "missionary dating" movement.

American Idol Contestants Sing “Shout to the Lord”

In what was a very odd moment tonight, the American Idol contestants sand "Shout to the Lord". Evidently they sang it last night as well and instead of singing, "My Jesus, My Savior" they sang "My Shepherd, My Savior" last night, but tonight they sang it correctly. Josh Harris remarked about the legal implications of changing the song lyrics (it is copyright infringement) without the songwriter's permission. Perhaps Idol got Darlene Zschech's permission and it was all on the up and up. I would love to know the back-story to this one.

I actually did enjoy the Dolly Parton week on Idol this year. She is a very gracious woman with a big heart and although her voice is fading, hearing her sing "Jesus and Gravity" was great. Below are the lyrics to the song. She certainly writes differently than me, but there is an authenticity to her and her faith which is very appealing. I also find it odd that I am nearly apologetic when explaining to my good Yankee friends that I have actually been to Dollywood.

The Dancing Inmates of Cebu

I am not really sure to what to make of the YouTube hit inmates of Cebu, but they have over 20 videos up on YouTube. I think it would be even more interesting if they were singing, too and were a full-fledged show choir.

Winter Wienermobile Wipe Out

I cannot resist this article found on the website of the local newspaper that I grew up reading, the Elmira Star Gazette.

Evidently the iconic Oscar Meyer Hot dog vehicle met up with some rough winter weather between Williamsport and Mansfield, PA.
