When the weather gives you lemons…..This image was taken at Bear Lake in Rocky mountain National Park. I arose early in hopes that the lake would be still in that I would catch images of Longs Peak and Aspens reflecting onto the lake. A windy morning made for choppy water. However, while the morning was still early I notice the golden Aspens and Colorado blue skies reflecting vividly and snapped this image in what is really my first attempt at a nature abstract. It has become one of my favorite images. I love the smooth, silky texture of the water and the deep colors.

Recommendation: This scene has such vibrant colors that you want to make sure you pick the right medium for the space where you will place it. Metal is a great choice for this because the colors would pop, even in lower light. This would also work well as a plaque mount printed on metallic paper.
