Common TAB Trailer Mistakes
A Guide to What Not To Do
Electrical & Power
Solar "Not Working":
Check if battery is already full.
No Power:
Flip the breaker on at the power pedestal.
12V Items Dead:
Check the main battery disconnect switch.
No Surge Protection:
Use an EMS to protect your camper's electronics.
Water & Plumbing
Water Leaking Underneath:
Use a water pressure regulator at the spigot.
Pump Not Priming:
Ensure Nautilus is set to "Dry Camp."
Unattended Flooding:
Turn the water pump off when not in use.
Winterizing:
Flush the toilet until you see pink antifreeze.
Towing & Safety
Bouncy Ride:
Check hitch height to ensure trailer is level.
Bent Tongue Jack:
Always fully retract jack before moving.
Lug Nuts:
Torque new trailer/tires at 10, 25, and 50 miles.
Coupler:
Double-check it's latched and pinned securely.
General & Setup
Condensation:
Ventilate by cracking a window or running the fan.
Unlatched Windows:
Ensure they are fully closed before travel.
Bugs Inside:
Turn off inside lights before opening the door at night.
Acclimating Pets:
Introduce pets to the camper before the first trip.
