Welcome Home, Minnie Pearl: My New TAB 360 Journey

While I absolutely loved my TAB 320, Mattie Ross, the TAB 360 is the camper I never knew I needed. It truly elevates the remote work experience for me. The first time I saw a preview, I was blown away. It showed a full-time twin bed and a dinette that converts to another twin. Plus, it has two stargazer windows—something I never thought would be possible in a camper this size. With windows on all four sides, it truly delivers 360-degree views. Several people commented that it felt like the TAB 360 was built just for me, and I couldn’t agree more.

Last week, just 1 year after picking it up, I brought Toto the Proto back to nuCamp in Sugarcreek, Ohio. It is nuCamp’s prototype unit for the 2025 TAB 360 teardrop camper.I left with Minnie Pearl, my new 2026 TAB 360.

What’s in a Name? The Story of Minnie Pearl

Choosing a name is important for me. Our campers are more than just a recreational vehicle. They connect us to people, places, and memories. After months of brainstorming, the name Minnie Pearl finally resonated. The connection was instant. For starters, the camper is small (“minnie”) and white (“pearl”). It reminds me of my roots watching the iconic Minnie Pearl on Hee-Haw. It also reflects my time living in Tennessee.

But the story gets more personal. Imagine a six-year-old Jenn, dressed in her finest outfit. She wears a Minnie Pearl-style hat with a dangling price tag in the kindergarten Easter parade. I have no idea why, but the memory makes me smile. I also admire her quick wit and ability to improvise necessary skills for any camper.

With a name that suited her, it was time to personalize Minnie Pearl for my camping and travel needs.

Making Her Mine: Options & Mods

Minnie Pearl is a 2026 model, and the main update is the beautiful new exterior graphics. I love how the long path leading to the mountains symbolizes our TAB adventures.

Many people know me for my buffalo plaid-wrapped camper. However, I chose a simple white exterior this time. It’s a better canvas for my photography work with nuCamp. Don’t worry, though—I have plans to personalize my campsite with nods to Minnie Pearl’s iconic price tag. For capability, I chose the Black Canyon and Lithium packages. They are essential for boondocking. These packages also power my remote work setup.

The nuCamp service center helped with a few key mods before I even left the factory. These mods were very similar to my prototype setup.

  • MaxxAir Deluxe fan – reversible 10 speed fan allows for quiet operation at low speeds, operation during rain, and a ceiling fan mode
  • Progressive EMS installation – I have installed this on every camper I have owned and it has spared me from reversed polarity, voltage fluctuations, outlets mis-wired for 220v and who knows what else. Read more about why they are important, here.

With these modifications in place, Minnie Pearl was ready for her maiden voyage.

The Maiden Voyage to Laurel Hill

I try not to get too excited before things happen, but the moment I saw Minnie Pearl, it all felt real. The first thing I noticed were those beautiful new graphics. Pulling out of the nuCamp headquarters in Sugarcreek, I felt a sense of calm. I was confident in the camper and knew my supportive friends in the community would be excited to meet her.

I set my course straight for Laurel Hill State Park for the Ohio-Pennsylvania TABs & Friends meetup. It was a great event with over 62 people in attendance, and we counted at least five TAB 360s! The atmosphere is always amazing; our group is full of genuinely nice people sharing ideas and helping each other out.

My favorite part was our campfire potluck. Cooking with pie irons and roasting hot dogs over the fire, create the perfect opportunity for great conversation. Among the options for pie iron meals were: pizza, tacos, BBQ chicken, steak & cheese, and other deli meats. Sides including mouth-water baked beans and delectable banana cake were crowd favorites.

Most of the group has left Laurel Hill. It’s time to get ready for the next big adventure with Minnie Pearl.

Looking Ahead

What’s next? The big adventure on the horizon is uCamp 2025! Excitement is growing as the nuCamp community prepares for a new venue and a different time of year.
